Yes, it's true ! Grayshott Concerts has been invited to stage the World Premiere of Sir Karl Jenkins' latest recorded major work, Miserere - Songs of Mercy and Redemption .
Sir Karl, Patron of Grayshott Concerts, would normally choose a major international venue for his world premieres including: Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall or Carnegie Hall, New York. But following the success of the world premiere of The Healer, at St Luke's Grayshott in 2014, (commissioned by Grayshott Concerts), Sir Karl decided to bring all the world-class performers featured on the CD to Grayshott for the first ever live performance.
And the performance on Friday 29 November 2019 will be recorded and later broadcast on Classic FM.
The Premiere of Sir Karl's Miserere (Psalm 51) will feature three of the world's most sought-after ensembles including: Polyphony Choir (making their second appearance in Grayshott), Britten Sinfonia Orchestra (in Grayshott for the first time), Iestyn Davies (regarded as one of the foremost counter-tenors in the world), all under the baton of choir-director supreme, Stephen Layton. The line-up also includes soloists, Zands Duggan (percussion), Abel Selaocoe (cello) and Catrin Finch (harp).
This exclusive event has been arranged at very short notice because the only date available when all the stars could appear together during the next year, is 29 November, and so, sadly, must replace our performance of Messiah! which is now scheduled for November 2020.
As you might expect, this is a hugely expensive performance to stage – so Grayshott Concerts has some serious fundraising ahead to ensure that the premiere can be achieved successfully. You are invited to support this World Premiere by sponsoring one or more of the performers Read More ...
